Dr. Lirar Pulikkalakath is Assistant Professor in the School of International Relations and Politics. He joined the faculty in January 2014. He was previously on the faculty of the K.A.H.M Unity Women’s College, Manjeri. He received his M.A in West Asian Studies from the University of Calicut and his M.Phil and Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Dr. Lirar specialises in West Asian and North African Studies and Issues in Contemporary International Relations apart from Migration, Diaspora and Refugees in International Politics. He has published several articles in journals and contributed to edited volumes on topics related to West Asian and North African politics, global displacement crisis as well as issues related to the Malayali migration. He is also a regular contributor to Malayalam News Magazines and online journals. Dr. Lirar has presented papers at several national and international seminars and conferences and has addressed several forums on current issues. He also officiates as the Chairman, Center for the Indian Diaspora Studies and the Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the School. Dr. Lirar is currently a member of the Board of Studies of the School, Associate Editor of the South Asian Journal of Diplomacy as well as the Indian Journal of Politics and International Relations. Dr. Lirar is also Coordinator of the KPS Menon Chair for Diplomatic Studies and the C.H. Mohammed Koya Chair of the Mahatma Gandhi University.
