The Centre for Migration Policy and Inclusive Governance (CMPIG) at Mahatma Gandhi University is launching a new online webinar series in Malayalam on “Rights Perspectives of Internal Migration in India.” The inaugural talk, titled “Land–Labour–Law: Inter-State Tribal Migration,” will be delivered by Dr. Ammini K. Wayanad, President of the Tribal Women’s Movement, Kerala. The session will be held on 17 June 2025 via Google Meet and will be conducted entirely in Malayalam.
This webinar series aims to engage scholars, activists, students, and community stakeholders across Kerala, focusing on internal migration through regional perspectives. Special emphasis will be placed on language accessibility and the lived experiences of migrant communities at the grassroots level.
The sessions are open only to those who can understand Malayalam. We request interested participants to join a dedicated WhatsApp group specifically for Malayalam-speaking attendees.
CMPIG also maintains a separate WhatsApp group for migration researchers interested in broader academic discussions beyond this series.
