Special Lecture: The Domestic Dimension of Indian Foreign Policy: Subcontinental Drift Revisited

The School of International Relations and Politics (SIRP), Mahatma Gandhi University, is organising a Special Lecture on “The Domestic Dimension of Indian Foreign Policy: Subcontinental Drift Revisited” by Prof. Rajesh Basrur, an independent scholar based in Mumbai, India. He is currently Adjunct Professor at the Griffith Asia Institute, Griffith University, Brisbane, and Senior Research Associate with the South Asian Studies Programme, National University of Singapore. Previously, he taught at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, and the University of Mumbai.

The lecture will examine the domestic political dimensions of Indian foreign policy, with particular attention to India’s relations with its South Asian neighbors and the changing dynamics of the subcontinent. Prof. Basrur’s scholarship spans Indian foreign policy, global nuclear politics, and international relations theory.
