Dr. T.K Jabir is currently an Assistant Professor (on Contract) at the School of International Relations and Politics (SIRP), Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) Kerala (India). He has completed MA from School of International Relations and Politics (SIRP), Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) Kerala and MPhil from Department of International Studies, School of Social Sciences, Pondicherry Central University and PhD in West Asian Studies from the Centre for West Asian Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University), New Delhi on the topic “CivilSociety Movements and Democratisation in Egypt: A Critical Analysis of Role of Muslim Brotherhood”. He has another Master’s Degree in English Language and Literature from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. His areas of research interests include International Relations/West Asian Studies, Indian Politics, secularism, colonial modernity, social transformation and renaissance in Kerala, public policy, history, ethnography of Muslim societies, minorities and religions.
Dr. Jabir has also taught Political Science in Panampilly Memorial Government College, Chalakkudy, Thrissur, Government Arts and Science College, Thrithala, Palakkad, MES College, Nedumkandam, Idukki, MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad, Palakkad. He has presented several papers in national and International seminars. He has contributed academic and popular articles in English and Malayalam magazines, periodicals and newspapers, and several chapters to edited books. Some of them have appeared(“Analysing The Political Mystery: The Notion Of Secularised Minority In India”) recently in the Journal of Polity and Society (2022), published by the University of Kerala, Trivandrum, “Kerala Renaissance: Revisiting Contributions of Vakkom Moulavi” In Manu. T., Hassan J. Discovery of Kerala Muslims: A Journey through the Myriad Aspects of Muslim Life(2022) and the Indian Journal of Politics and International Relations (Peer reviewed journal, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam). He has contributed one chapter on the Palestine-Israel conflict published by Mythri Books Trivandrum (forthcoming 2024). He is also a public speaker and cultural activist, participating in several TV channel debates.
