On 31st October, 2023 in the presence of South Korean Ambassador to India H.E Amb. Chang Jae-Bok, Prof. C.T Aravindakumar, Vice-Chancellor of the Mahatma Gandhi University inaugurated the Korea Centre, a research centred affiliated with School of International Relations and Politics (SIRP), Mahatma Gandhi University. In his Keynote Address “Ambassador’ Lecture @SIRP” Amb. Chang, said that the changing global situation opens up new opportunities for India-South Korea cooperation. He congratulated the university for the initiative and said it was a far-sighted step by Mahatma Gandhi University to start the first Korea Center in South India. In his Inaugural Address Prof. C.T Aravindakumar, Chancellor mentioned that the Korea Centre would be the platform for the Universities academic interaction with institution in Korea. Korea Centre’s Scholar in Residence, Dr. Paik Haksoon, Chairman of Kim Dae Jung Academy of Politics, Head of School of International Relations and Politics. C. Vinodan, Honorary Director of Korea Center Dr. Jojin V. John and others participated.
