Bio note of the Speaker:

Prof Joy Chowdhury is a qualified economist who currently works as an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Goa Institute of Management in Goa. He has also taught as a visiting professor at IIM Sambalpur and IIM Amritsar. Prior to joining GIM, he worked for IBS Chennai, NMIMS University, Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, IIM Ahmedabad, and Jadavpur University. His research interests include applied economics, public policy, behavioral economics, economic modeling, and general equilibrium modeling. He has presented his studies at numerous national and international conferences. He also worked on a consultancy project to assess the economic implications of a mining ban in Goa.
