Migration has become a defining feature of the contemporary world, giving rise to many social, cultural, and human rights challenges. Migrant workers, often vulnerable and marginalized, face increasing difficulties as they seek better opportunities in foreign lands. The evolving nature of migration has led to the creation of refugees, while government policies contribute to rendering people stateless. In light of these pressing issues, the Centre for Migration Policy and Inclusive Governance (CMPIG) proposes to organize a week-long online lecture series titled ‘Migration, Statelessness, and Citizenship: A Changing Global Perspective. The primary aim of this lecture series is to foster a comprehensive understanding of the social, cultural, and human rights challenges migrant workers face worldwide. By exploring the changing nature of migration, the creation of refugees, and the impact of government policies leading to statelessness, the series seeks to create awareness, encourage dialogue, and promote inclusive governance in managing migration-related issues.
