Mr. Arun P Dravid

Mr. Arun P. Dravid is a Ph.D. Scholar under the guidance of Prof. C. Vinodan at the School of International Relations and Politics (SIRP), Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. Currently he is in China on behalf of his research. He also  completed his M.A and M. Phil in International Relations and Politics from the same University. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication and Journalism from Bharathiya Vidhya Bhavan, Mumbai.  His doctoral research is focusing on China’s Soft Power Diplomacy in Africa. He has spent time as a student / researcher in different parts of India. He was previously working as a guest faculty at Ananta Civil Service Academy, Kazargod.

Mr. Dravid specialises in China and African Studies, China’s international relations and Public Diplomacy, China’s foreign and energy security policies in Global South. Apart from his specialization his research interests include caste, class and social exclusion and inclusion studies. He has done serious studies on the matter of social justice especially from the reading of Dr. B.R Ambedkar, J. L Nehru and several other contemporary thinkers.

Arun P. Dravid is extremely active in various fields of social action. He is an excellent organizer as well as a committed social worker. He served as the State committee member of All Kerala Research Scholars Association. He is an excellent orator and giving insightful comments on various social issues. He has been contributing to academic and popular press writing on various issues related to rights, development and contemporary debates on ideologies in defence of rights of the marginalized people. He is a regular contributor to Malayalam News Magazines and online journals. He has presented papers at several national and international seminars and conferences and has addressed several forums on current issues. He was also associated as the joint convenor and coordinator of various International Conferences conducted by School of International Relations and Politics of Mahatma Gandhi University.
